Network of Organizations Working with Persons with Disabilities (NOWPDP)
NOWPDP is a national disability-inclusion organization working to empower persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Pakistan through education, skills development, employment, advocacy, and accessible infrastructure. The organization focuses on enabling independence and economic participation for people with physical, sensory, and intellectual disabilities.
Its flagship initiative, Moriro Markaz, is Pakistan’s first Center of Excellence for Disability Inclusion, developed in partnership with the Government of Sindh. The center provides integrated support including education, vocational training, assistive services, and pathways to employment, particularly in underserved districts.
NOWPDP also runs multiple long-term programs aimed at economic empowerment and inclusion, including skills training in textiles and crafts, employment placement with private-sector partners, accessible mobility solutions, and workplace accessibility initiatives with major corporations. Special emphasis is placed on women with disabilities, through community leadership and mentorship programs that address compounded social and economic barriers.

Rising Sun Education & Welfare Society
Rising Sun Education & Welfare Society is one of Pakistan’s most established organizations working in the field of special education, rehabilitation, and inclusion for children with disabilities. The organization provides education, therapy, and vocational support to children with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities, with a strong focus on early identification and long-term rehabilitation.
Rising Sun currently serves 850+ enrolled students and has identified over 1,070 children with special needs through 26 screening camps conducted across cities in Punjab. These screening initiatives aim to detect disabilities at an early stage and connect children to appropriate educational and therapeutic services. The organization operates across 26 cities in Punjab, extending its reach beyond major urban centers.
In addition to education and rehabilitation, Rising Sun promotes inclusion through sports and extracurricular activities. Its students have won 331 medals at national and international levels, reflecting efforts to encourage confidence, participation, and social integration. Rising Sun collaborates with 20+ universities and educational institutions, strengthening professional training, research, and inclusive education practices. The organization reports an annual operational expense of PKR 213.383 million, supporting its multi-city programs and specialized services.

Saaya Association
Saaya Association is a nonprofit organization in Islamabad dedicated to empowering people with disabilities and promoting their full inclusion in Pakistani society. Founded as a cross-disability association, Saaya works to advance independent living, inclusive education, access to assistive devices like wheelchairs, livelihood support, sports participation, and community awareness. The organization runs programs that focus on disability empowerment, inclusive healthcare, and public awareness sessions to eliminate stigma and barriers. With a vision of a barrier-free, rights-based society where people with disabilities thrive, Saaya also supports internship opportunities and works with local partners to improve mobility, social participation, and economic independence for individuals with disabilities.
